We are delighted to announce that St Peter’s has been selected to participate in a yearlong dance project called, Little Big Dance.
Little Big Dance is a national dance project wishing to create really wonderful dance work for 0-5 year olds that will eventually appear in our local theatre, CAST in Doncaster.
St Peter’s is 1 of 16 primary schools nationally that are taking part in Little Big Dance. George Fellows is the artist who will work with our children at St Peter’s.
George Fellows is a Yorkshire-based dance artist and co-artistic director of Four Hands (www.fourhandscompany.com), a dance company that works primarily with young children and their families. George will be working together with Skye Reynolds (an early years dance specialist) and with support from Yorkshire Dance they will create a new piece of dance aimed at children aged 0 to 5 as part of the Little Big Dance project.
George’s work will incorporate children’s voices and will focus on asking children the question, “What do you want to say to the world?”. As part of this process, they will be delivering several sessions for the children at St Peter’s that will include creative movement and dance, whilst creating spaces for the children to share experiences and tell they own stories, using a variety of different methods and materials (speaking, moving, dancing, drawing, singing etc.).
