Wednesday 20th May
This morning, we woke up to beautiful blue skies and sunshine, ready for another exciting day at camp. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, everyone was full of energy for the adventures ahead.
In the morning, we travelled to Duridge Bay to take part in a range of water sports activities. After getting suited up in wetsuits, the children worked brilliantly together while paddle boarding and canoeing, learning lots of new skills along the way. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and determination on display! Once we had dried off, we enjoyed a picnic lunch by the lake before heading back to camp.
Back at camp, the children had a little time to relax before setting off on a walk to the pebble beach. For some, it was their very first glimpse of seals swimming in the water, which was very exciting. The children also enjoyed building cairns and searching for a special stone to keep for tomorrow evening’s liturgy.
Throughout the day, the children continued working on their Pilgrim Challenge by noticing the beauty around them, showing gratitude, speaking kindly to others, and taking moments of quiet reflection to listen to God.
When we returned to camp, we were welcomed back with another delicious evening meal prepared by the wonderful camp volunteers.
Tonight, we are looking forward to a quiz followed by a game of bingo. We have lots of happy but very tired children who have thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors and making memories with their friends.
