Tree planting in the local community

On 5th February 2025, our KS2 children participated in an enjoyable and worthwhile initiative which had been organised by the Sustainability team at Doncaster Council. We were invited to join them in a community tree planting day close to our school. Spending time outside in the spring sunshine, connecting with nature was wonderful for our wellbeing, and was highly enjoyable for all involved. It helped strengthen our community links and supported us in helping the children to understand their responsibilities as community and global citizens - one of our key curriculum principles. Care for Creation is one of the seven principles of Catholic Social Teaching, which we continually embed here at St. Peter’s.
