PE Days

Please note that for the Summer Term there has been a change to the PE days for Year 4. We will now have PE on both Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

This half-term we will be focusing on athletics and cricket, both of which will be outside so please ensure that PE kit, including footwear, is appropriate for the weather and in-line with school uniform policy.

Reading books & Library

We take advantage of every opportunity to listen to the children read in school and love to share their reading progress by celebrating any comments from home in their reading journals, so please bring reading books and journals into school each day. Books can be exchanged at any time.

Once a fortnight, we draw our reading raffle where one lucky person can win a new book! Raffle tickets can be earned by showing evidence of home reading in reading journals, for being prepared by bringing reading books back into school, for outstanding effort when reading to an adult in school and by the children showing initiative and independence in their own reading journey.

Our Library day is a Wednesday.

Home learning & weekly tasks

Home learning tasks are sent home each week, to be returned on a Tuesday. I will run homework clubs on Friday and Monday lunchtimes for anyone who would like additional support.

Summer Term Tasks

Over the Summer term, we will be exploring the topic of Healthy Eating as well as looking at animals and investigating electricity.

There are a selection of home learning tasks for the Summer term on this page. These activities are planned to cover the whole term's topic, which lasts until the Summer holidays. Please choose at least two of them to complete over the term.

Times Tables Rock Stars

The children have made tremendous progress in their times table knowledge during the Autumn term and I am eager to see just how fabulous they will become during the Spring term! Activities will be assigned within the app as part of home learning and we will be celebrating successes in class each week. I am excited to see everyone achieve their Rock Star status!
